8 mm and Hi-8 recorders offer high quality sound in a small package.
However:

1. Camcorders are delicate devices that break down easily.

2. Many camcorders don’t have a microphone jack and using the internal microphone results in excessive motor noise.

3. Low on the “cool” factor.
